If you're like me, a home gym is a must-have — especially in the face of all that's going on in the world today.

Thankfully, when you think of a home gym, it doesn't mean it has to be expensive or that you have to have tons of room to house it. All you need is the following and you'll be on your way!

#1 - Ankle Weights

Ankle weights are my go-to for increasing the intensity of my walks, jogs, and workouts. They are versatile and help maintain and build muscles. You don't even have to be working out to wear them and enjoy their benefits — try them out when doing chores around the house!

#2 - Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are amazing for leg and bun exercises. My favorite is Non-Slip Elastic Booty Bands. You can find all sorts of amazing resistance band workouts online or come up with a routine of your own.

I love how they protect my joints and allow for me to adjust resistance levels based on how I'm feeling and/or how much strength I gain over time.

#3 - Compact Elliptical Stairs

There's no need to invest in an expensive elliptical machine, thanks to these $99 ultra-compact elliptical stairs. They are amazing for both cardio and strength-building.

#4 - Yoga Mat

A yoga mat will help keep your workouts grounded. You can go all out and enjoy a full yoga routine or just use the mat for stretching.

#5 - Multi-Functional Pilates Bar and Resistance Band Set

You can never go wrong with a pilates bar, and combine it will a set of resistance bands and there's a world or workouts just waiting for you.

#6 - Trampoline

I love trampolines! They're a fun way to get exercise and it's so good for your muscles and joints. My kids like to join in too sometimes, and we all have a blast. This is a great one because it's adjustable and comes with a foam handlebar to use for a variety of workouts.

#7 - Jump Rope

A good old fashioned jump rope helps you tone nearly every muscle in your body. You can combine jumping rope with a trampoline to spice things up and protect your knees/joints.

#8 - Ab Roller

Ab rollers are a great way to isolate your core and assure that your abs are getting the love they deserve. If you've got back problems, you may want to avoid this one and go for some gentler exercises.

#9 - Adjustable Dumbbells

Dumbbells are essential for a complete workout. Luckily, you can find adjustable dumbbell sets that allow you to add and take away weights easily and it makes storage easier than ever.
