Many of you have been asking me for a list of nursery essentials, and I’m so excited to share my favorites with you!
Every family is different, so remember there are no rights and wrongs when setting up your nursery.
The most important thing is the love and care you put into it so that your little one feels at ease and supported throughout their growing journey, and I hope these ideas will help!
#1 - Crib
The crib is one of the most important parts of a nursery because your baby will be sleeping in it for the next three-plus years. I had both of my babies cribs custom-made to match the decor in their room, but I love this chic Pottery Barn Kids Sloan Acrylic Crib.
#2 - Mattress
This mattress is wonderful because it is breathable, non-toxic, organic, and safe. It is pricey but worth every penny. Best baby mattress on the market in my opinion.
#3 - Baby Monitor
We have Nest Cams installed all over our home, but we also have a backup Baby Monitor in case the WIFI fails. The Samxic Baby Monitor is amazing because there is two-way talk, remote pan and tilt, and temperature alert.
#4 - Sound Machine/Night Light
If you've read my article about the best sleep environment for your baby, I talk a lot about having a sound machine in their room to drown out noise. I like the Hatch Sound Machine because it is a sounds machine that offers multiple different sounds and a night light in one. The night light can be dimmed or bright and is perfect for middle of the night breastfeeding.
#5 - Changing Table
I can't get enough of this adorable changing table from Pottery Barn kids. It's the perfect size with adequate storage.
#6 - Changing Pad
This changing pad is excellent because it is ultra-soft and contoured on the sides, while being water resistant and easy to clean. Makes life so much easier!
#7 - Wipe Warmer
I tried so many wipe warmers with my babies and the Prince Lionheart Ultimate Wipe Warmer is my favorite. It’s easy to open and prevents the wipes from drying out.
#8 Diaper Pale
The Playtex Diaper Genie is the best because it filters and controls odors amazingly well.
#9 - Laundry Baskets
Laundry Baskets are super important for a nursery because there are constantly soiled clothing, cloths, blankets, bibs, and towels. I love these Ivory Chunky Knit Nursery baskets.
#10 - Breast Feeding Pillow
The Boppy worked best for me because I could position my babies easily and comfortably while I fed them. It's also amazing to use for tummy time.
#11 - Rocking Chair/Glider
I love this glider because it was made with mommy and baby in mind. It has rolled armrests and rocks back and forth in a smooth motion. Super comfy as well!
